In addition to seagul's advice...your wife MUST submit the next FLR(M) application before her current visa expires. The Home Office won't send any reminders.seagul wrote:Almost the same struggle you have repeat again at the end of 2.5 years. Read the information about extensiin:

If she has to go down the FLR (FP) to go down the 10 year path to settlement (ILR), will she need to pass any tests for this?Casa wrote:In addition to seagul's advice...your wife MUST submit the next FLR(M) application before her current visa expires. (Again under current regulations), if your wife fails to pass the Life in the UK and B1 level English tests at the end of the 5 year period she would have to apply for the FLR(FP) Partner route, which would be a new 10 year path to settlement (ILR).
Edit: (Reminded by fellow Moderator, Vinny). She will have the option of applying for a 3rd FLR(M) extension to buy time at the end of the 5 year period in order to meet the English language conditions.
Not required under a FLR(FP) Partner application, but this 10 year route won't be necessary if she extends again under FLR(M), which requires A2 level English.Casa wrote: Edit: (Reminded by fellow Moderator, Vinny).
