ORPHANED DISABLED SISTER, NOONE TO LOOK AFTER HER

Post by Batgirl » Sat Mar 03, 2018 9:06 pm

Hello

I came to the UK as a somali refugee in 1998 (I was 11). I was granted ILR in 2010. I got my citizenship in 2012.

I have outlined my dilemma below:-

" I have a sister who lives in Africa
" She turned 9 years old in December 2018
" Our mother passed away when she was 16 months
" Her father passed away in June 2017.
" Her paternal grandmother who was her guardian after she was orphaned, passed away on the 20th February 2018.
" She's now completely orphaned as she has no other surviving family members who are able to look after her.
" My sister is also disabled.
" She was born with an imperforate anus.
" She also has kidney and urinary tract defects and other issues. Therefore, requires a lot of care.

What I do know is I cannot apply for family reunion as I am no longer a refugee.

Moving forward, I would like to hear from people who have been through the same or maybe similar situation and how they went about it as I am at a loss. I have arranged for her to live with a longtime friend of mine (but she's married with 4 children so this can only be temporary of course until I can figure out my next step). My sister has lost so much at a very young age and I am her only hope.

I am not too sure about how to advise on this, am sure others who are more informed will add their posts. All I'll add is May Allah make it easy for your sister and you. Since you have ILR check the following guidance from gov website:

Thank your for your response.

The problem with the link you sent me is as aforementioned in my post, I am no longer a refugee as I am now a British Citizen so this form does not apply to my case.

I think I can use form VAF4A and appendix 2 but the other problem with this is I have to be employed and I was made redundant in December. Hopefully someone will respond as I honestly do not know how to move forward.

Thank you all in advance.

Unfortunately 319V is no longer in operation.

Thank you for your response.

Yes, I am aware that 319v does not apply as I did mention it in my original post.

I think 297(f) may apply in this case but not sure what form is the correct one and how to really go about the whole thing.

Yes. 297(i)(f) looks promising.
