Validity of Family/tourist visitor visa?

Post by chandnip » Tue Apr 08, 2008 2:27 pm

Hi everyone,
We have got a problem here. My husband works in UK on a work permit which expires in mid August.I work here as a dependant work permit holder. Both of us are Indian nationals.
We are planning to sponsor my mother(from India) to come and stay with us for one month in UK.We know that the maximum validity for a visitor visa is 6 months.
But we have got only 4 months validity for our work permits. So if we apply for family visit visa for my mother then what will be the period of validity for the visa?
Will they issue a 3/4 months visa valid till the validity of our work permits?
Are there any chances that our visa application will get rejected?

We have got all other documents in place.

Any help would be great.
Regards
Chandni

Thats going to changed to 3 months only very soon.
But we have got only 4 months validity for our work permits.
Is there anyway of extending it before you sponsor?
Are there any chances that our visa application will get rejected?
This is very hard question to answer. It all depends on the documentation you submit and the proof that your mother will return at the end of her trip.
