6 Months Tourist Visa to a spouse visa

Post by imad29 » Fri May 30, 2008 12:30 am

Hello to all
I was refused a settlement visa when i applied here in Dubai at the Uk immigration and visa office since the lady there was not clear and did not tell me that i have to be married to my wife for 4 years in order for me to apply foe the settlement visa. My wife has her ILR but she had no National Insurance Number also she didnt have a job in UK but had a Correspondence job between Dubai and Uk.
Now i am thinking of going there on tourist visa which i am suppose to get in the airport as a Canadian citizen but not sure what to do when they see the refusal stamp on last page. So does anyone think i can change my visa since my wife has a job now with 300 GBP salary.
she got a flat with tenency agreement.
I am scared to go and get turned down in the airport
can anyone help please?
I am really confused and dont know what to dol.

I am confused about the details of your circumstances, the information given and the status of your wife in the UK. Not to appear offensive but nothing that you said makes any sense. To take one point in isolation - you do not need to be married for 4 years to get a spouse visa.

It would help if you could state exactly what it said in your refusal letter? Particularly the actual reason for the refusal.

Can I recommend you view this link as it expalins the basics for spouse applications?

The thirty second summary of the rules:-

Your wife would have to be present and settled in the UK. Be able to demonstrate that she can provide adequate accommodation and maintenance for you without recourse to public funds.

On the information supplied she is not able to do so.

Without further information my advice is not travel to the UK. You will almost certainly be refused entry. Trying the tact “I am a touristâ€
