Switching from fiancée visa to spouse visa

Post by Monty1978 » Thu Jan 17, 2019 7:21 am

Hi all. Thanks for all your help thus far :-)

My fiancée arrived in this country on December 20th.

We are getting married on February 14th. From this point she will have 3 months 1 week left on her visa.

My main question is really that if we apply for a visa in say March we will only have 2 1/2 months before her fiancée visa expires. Will she have to leave the country while the visa is being processed if the fiancée visa runs out during this time?

Also, surely it's a formality transferring a fiancée visa to a spouse visa? I mean, they took over 4 months deliberating on the fiancée visa. Nothing about either of us, or our relationship will be different aside from the fact we are married come February.

Thanks

She won't have to leave the UK while she has a pending application for a spouse visa on form FLR M with HO.
