Flr fp - renewal worry

Hi, I’m not sure if anyone has any experience with such a matter or can assist me.

Background: My mum was granted 10 year route to settlement parent route and I was the dependent child her application was based and therefore I was granted the same category as her. We have renewed once already. However,I am now 21 years old, a university student and with two children of my own. My mum says that for renewal we have to continue with the same process e.g. her being the main applicant and me her dependent child? She said that if I do a separate application this time by myself and with my two dependent kids (which I initially planned to do as I believed that was the correct way forward but now I am confused and worried)it will be refused because I would be changing my circumstances Is this correct ?
