Court hearing questions

Hello all, i am a new member and wondering if anyone can be of help regarding the likely question to be asked on a court hearing.
My child is british since his father is british but the home office is requesting for a DNA test (otherwise i need to leave the country) which i am unable to provide as i am no more with the child's father(N.B child is now 3years old).
My solicitor appealed last year informing them DNA is no longer a mandatory requirement to be provided but they are still insisting on it and now a hearing date has been fixed in court.
Has anyone gone for a hearing with related issue and can you advise the kind of questions asked.
