English Language Test for Spouse Visa extension

Post by krautboy » Tue May 07, 2019 5:00 pm

Hello everyone,

i would need some input on clarifying something.

My wife is from Brazil and currently on a spouse visa here in the UK. We are coming up the the time frame of needing to extend this visa. All requirements are quite straight forward and we tick all the boxes and should have all relevant documentation.

One thing though that is a bit confusing for me is the English Language Test. To my understanding a A1 or A2 is required. My wife did a B2 IELTS back in Brazil 2 1/2 years ago and she thinks since its a higher test than the A1 or A2, she doesnt have to do another one.

The certificate does not state an expire date, online i read that mostly its valid for 2 years.

Can someone just confirm whether she will have to resit another test?

Thanks and kind regards,

Krautboy

She will need A2 test but B1 is far better. I don't know that why your IELTS test has no expiry because almost all carry 2 years of validity.
