Combined Finances/Income

Post by MrUK2020 » Sun May 12, 2019 10:50 pm

Good evening all

I am right in understanding that in cases of spouse visas, FLR M and eventual ILR a couple can use the incomes of both parties (and or savings/finances) to meet requirements?

I know it sounds obvious with it being referred to as combined income on the gov.uk site but would rather ask a stupid question then get a rejection! Reason being whether combined referred to if an individual had more than one source of income or savings and combining all that the sponsoring spouse had to meet the requirement rather than it being a combination of both spouses.

To clarify one other point can the savings be combined to? So two individuals with £35k each submitting evidence of their individual savings to show a combined total of £70k held as a couple to meet the requirements through the savings route?

Apologise for how obvious this all potentially is

MrUK
yes savings can be combined provided they are 6 months old and not from loan/third party.

Not for the initial spouse visa if applied for from outside the UK.
