Hello,
My husband and I are looking to apply for a spouse visa. I am a British national he is a Chinese national and we are legally married in China, have the translated/notarised marriage certificate etc.
I am working in the UK while he is in China and it looks like the only way to apply is 'from outside the UK'. I have been looking at the appendix documents and am still not quite sure about the financial requirements.
Typically the sponsor (me) will need to be employed by the same company for a minimum of 6 months with an annual salary of at least £18,600 (we have no dependents). I am employed with a salary that meets that minimum amount, but at the time that we plan to make the application, I will only have been employed for 2 months. Prior to this, within the last 12 months I was employed in China in 7 of those months and the salary earned within that time is about £18,000. In terms of savings I have some cashing savings to the amount of about £2,000.
Given this history, with the multiple sources of income of current employment in the UK, previous employment overseas income and savings - does the fact that I have been working in my current UK company for less than 6 months matter? Is it the case that as long as we have ways to meet the £18,600 then that is fine?
Would appreciate any help you can give, otherwise it just means that we can only make the application after I have been employed for 6 months.
Many thanks,
Grace
