Guidance on Income thresholds for spouse Visa

Post by Sean Holmes » Wed Jun 19, 2019 6:52 pm

Hello,

Myself and my wife are starting the process of applying for a spouse visa. My wife is Canadian and is currently in the UK on a youth mobility visa which expires in Decmber 2019. We have read that the minimum income requirement for UK partner is £18600. We have no dependants and the confusion is whether my wifes current UK salary of 18720 before tax would meet the criteria alone because I am self employed and it is hard to prove my own annual income because if this.

Thank you kindly,

Sean

Yes, for switching within the UK to FLR m spouse visa she can use her income to meet the requirement.

Proof of living together for Marriage FLRM application

Post by Sean Holmes » Thu Jun 27, 2019 6:15 pm

Hi,

Just a bit confused with the proof of shared address section on FLRM form. If we are married, is it still crucial that we prove living together for two years? We have been married for over two years but proving the first few months of our living together is hard as it was with family and we do not have and shared mail left from this period..

Thank you for any info, much appreciated

No issue because initial spouse visa application won't need the proofs of 2 years of cohabitation rather any recent proof of address should be fine.

FLRM application Gross annual salary query

Post by Sean Holmes » Thu Jun 27, 2019 6:58 pm

Hi,

I am applying for FLRM to extend stay in UK with my husband. I have been told that the minimum income requirement is 18600. I earn an annual gross income of 18720 which is above requirement. I been employed for over a year at this job, however my salary went up just 4 months ago and before this was below the required. Can I still use this salary to meet the required, or do I have to have 6 months of pay slips at this salary?

Any info is greatly appreciated,

Thank you

If your monthly salary during the last 6 months was below to £1550 then HO will consider the lowest wages figure which means you might fail to meet the financial requirement. Better to let the 6 months be completed with new salary.

Thank you kindly. Is there a way to calculate the required amount with 6 months of pay slips to see if they still reach criteria (being that only 4 of the 6 months are at salary 18600)?

Thank you

List what each months gross salary is. You must have a minimum of £1550 per month for 6 months.

If the wages vary each month then (total of 6 months wages/6×12= ??

Otherwise lowest wages figure in last six months is multiplied with 12
