Spouse Visa - Category F - Completed Financial Year?

Post by Hoodlum » Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:15 am

Hey - apologies if this specific information is already posted somewhere in this forum, but it's a bit tricky to narrow down with a search.

I am a UK citizen, intending to marry my Vietnamese girlfriend in February or March next year. She is currently with me in the UK on a tourist visa, which will expire in early January, at which point we will both go back to Vietnam.

I am the sole director of a limited company, and as such much provide financial evidence under categories F or G. I intend to use category F, last full financial year (based on my company).

My company year runs from September - September. I did not trade at all last company year. I have returned to work this month, and will begin to receive income through my company next month, such that it will fall into my company's new financial year (19 - 20).

I will have received via salary + dividends the required amount (£18,600) after 3 months of work.

My question is - what is the soonest I can apply for the spouse visa? Do I need to wait for the entire company financial year to be completed (Sept 2020)? Or will it be enough that there can be seen 6 months of income drawn from my company going into my personal bank accounts, meaning that I could apply around March 2020 instead?

Thanks for any help

Hi

If you didn't have any income come through in the last company year, then you might be able to use another means to show how you meet the £18,500 threshold (perm job, self-employment, saving etc). However another member can confirm this.

If however, you dont have any of the above, you will probably have to wait for a full financial year's worth of accounts (i.e. until next September) before applying, as you need to provide the CT600, which can only be done after year end.
