Hi everyone

I have applied for uk spouse visa on the 15th of may 2019 ALBANIA
Biometric and documents submitted 15th of may 2019
No phone calls to my wife or her employer.
3 months later on the 8th of august I got an email from VISAINFO SHEF
stating that

Unfortunately the processing of your application has not been
straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our
costumer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and
aim to make a decision as soon as possible .

Today 3 weeks later I keep asking my lawer to email them and ask for an
update but he refuses to do so, saying that they have notifed us asking for
more time.

Does anyone has been in a similar situation, should I email them myself
asking for an update ?
Any advice will be much appreciated
