Post by firoz_uk » Fri Sep 06, 2019 4:15 pm

Hi,

I am working in UK since last 2 years me and my wife visa is valid till sep'2020.
Our baby was born in April this year and we have got the indian passport for him.
We want to visit Europe in next few months so wanted to confirm weather my kid need the dependent Visa for visiting and coming back to UK ??

Kindly confirm if anyone is aware of that.

Thanks

What visa category exactly do you and your wife hold? There are different categories of 'working' visas.

On your question, yes the child needs a visa to come back to the UK if you are Indian as your flag suggests.

You also need to apply for a Schengen visa for the child and for that, they will want to see the valid UK visa.

At least having a UK visa for your child will mean you can buy the Immigration Health Surcharge, instead of having to continue to pay the NHS at point of use for your baby for a service that is not free.

From the Charging regulations.

As your wife had her baby in the UK when she had a valid IHS -

A child born in the UK to an above mentioned exempt person is also exempt from charge up to the age of three months provided that the child has not left the UK since birth
