Dependant from USA on ILR

Post by Tinker83 » Thu Oct 31, 2019 7:49 pm

Hi,

I'm Australian with indefinite leave to remain in the UK. My partner is here in the UK from the USA on a work sponsored visa. I would like to get her on my ilr as my partner/dependant.

We have been together 2 years and have been living together in London for the last 6 months.

What would be the process/route to have her be a dependent on my ILR

Thanks

The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

To apply as unmarried partner, you need 2 years rock solid evidence of living in a relationship akin to marriage. 6 months is not sufficient and it will be refused. There is no discretion on this 2 year evidence requirement if unmarried.

The mandatory 2 year evidence is not required if you are married.

Have you lived together elsewhere before moving to London or are the last six months it?

If you have only lived together for six months then you'd have to get married.
