Hi there,
I came to the UK on student visa in October 2014 for MBA. I met partner and filed for visa extension application flr (fp) somewhere in April 2016, while the application was made we both weren’t married and HO refused the application. While in December 2016 we got married and received refusal letter and we appealed and won our case. I then got 2.5 (expiring april 2020) year extension on 10 year route and now we have also a 2.5 years old child together
I am wondering whether I should apply for flr fp again for extension or flr m as if we go with flr fp (10 year route) it is a long process for ilr and bit of nuisance for my employment, and visa fee, and i have to apply for three more times (2.5*3, as already done once in 10 year route) , but with flr m ( I would have to apply only twice (once this year and one more time) and then can apply for ilr)?
Someone has advised that if i apply again for flr fp then my time would be counted as 10 year from 2014( when I came to Uk as student) not from 2016 and this is close as i can apply for ilr in 2024, but I am bit worried as it can’t be a case. I did apply for extending flr fp first time before my student cisa expired.
Please can your share some advise to what visa I should be applying now so I can apply for ilr earlier than later? Would flr fp be a sensible option or flr m considering I have been in the Uk from 2014 but in student visa.
Many thanks in advance
Regards
