Uploading vs Posting documents

Post by SheenaStuart » Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:20 pm

Hello,
I am currently on my first FLR (M) visa which will be coming to an end in March so I'm getting ready to apply for the second one. I've read a lot of forums where people have been saying that they've uploaded scans of all of their supporting documents, however, I don't see anywhere in the application that mentions scanning documents.
On the "4. Documents" page, it gives a checklist of what I must provide and at the bottom of the page it says:

"Providing your documents
You must provide your documents after you submit your application, these can be originals or copies. Any passports provided must be originals.
We will tell you how to provide your documents after you have submitted your application.
Your application may be rejected if you do not provide all mandatory documents."

Once I submit my application, is that when I'll have access to an uploading my documents page? Or will I still have to post them all in again like I did for my previous visa?

Thank you!

Presumably you are applying online. Make sure you don't apply too early as you will end up with a short fall for ILR. Date of application is the date you submit and pay online and not your ukcvas biomterics appointment.

Yes!
Or will I still have to post them all in again like I did for my previous visa?
No. Nothing is posted to ho anymore.

Thank you so much for getting back to me!
I think it was throwing me off because it said "Any passports provided must be originals", so I thought I'd have to post it in.
Why does it have to be so mysterious with "We will tell you how to provide your documents after you have submitted your application"? This whole process seems so esoteric. Why can't it just be upfront and clear? I guess I'll need to clear a few hours out of my schedule next week to scan everything. It's a lot of paperwork to scan! But I digress...

My current visa expires 10 March and I'm planning on submitting my application on 14 Feb, which puts me in that 28 day window, so I should be good - thanks for checking!
