FoI UK Visa Statistics (Visitor, Fiancé & Spouse)

My girlfriend is about to apply for a fiancé visa to come to the UK we can get married, and as we had some time to wait (for the IELTs and TB tests), I took the opportunity to contact the UK Visas & Immigration department to make a Freedom of Information request.

These forums are my main port of call when I have any concerns or queries and so I figured I'd post the results here in the hope that someone might benefit from them.



Results:

Visitor:
Applications: 2,656,930
Issued: 2,216,225
Refused: 316,845

Fiancé:
Applications: 2,730
Issued: 1,965
Refused: 250

Spouse:
Applications: 36,550
Issued: 28,455
Refused: 3,805

This won't apply to most but, here are the stats in respect of applicants of Indonesian nationality:

Visitor:
Applications: 53,930
Issued: 51,080
Refused: 1,635

Fiancé:
Applications: 40
Issued: 30
Refused: 5

Spouse:
Applications: 170
Issued: 140
Refused: 15

Although there seems to be a noticeable percentage of applications missing in each category (presumably refunds), it gives a good perspective for those planning to apply.
