If you’re here with 6 months’ leave as a fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner and your wedding or civil ceremony has been delayed due to coronavirus, you can either request an extension until 31 July 2020 by updating your records with the Coronavirus Immigration Team, or apply to extend your stay for a further 6 months to allow the ceremony to take place

My wife and I are hopeful there are changes after 31st July! We managed to get married on 9th July, visa expires this Saturday and we've literally done everything we could at the earliest opportunity (give or take a few days) We did the extension to 31st July application last week to give us another week breathing space but there are just simply no appointments available to do the formal application as it looks like they are catching up on those who already had some booked in during the lockdown period. Tough times

Why did you need "breathing space"? Once she is married, it's an online application for FLR(M) before her fiance visa expires.

The date of application is the date you submit and pay online for form FLR(M). It is NOT the date of the biometric appointment. You MUST apply online and pay before her current visa expires.

If the marriage Certificate was the only thing left, since you are married now and have the certificate (I presume) then you are all sorted. 1. Making application, paying the fees and IHS, online submission and 2. Making booking for biometrics are 2 different segments of the application.
Putting your application and submit online (being mindful of the recommended 28days for some docs) then you can be checking UKVCAS for booking appointment for when it opens up.

Yes, that is what i am alluding to as you have made the application before her current leave expires. Even after her visa expiration on Saturday, she still has all the rights conferred on her by the previous leave.

Apologies, if i came across quite strongly in previous post, can not imagine making the straight/clear situation become complicated if her visa expires especially with the imminence based on a little misunderstanding of process.

Keep checking for availability of appointment for the biometrics and or the HO might inform you they will rely on previous one they hold in their database.

No apologies needed and you're infinitely more polite and helpful than my partner found on her Russian counterparts. She was being called every name under the sun for simply asking a question hah. This forum was helpful in the past and continues to be.

I checked for biometric/document appointments again today at every location, but none available. The header says they're allowing people who submitted the FLR(M) in May to book theirs so I guess we just wait for this to allow those who submitted in July to book theirs.

Also, if I'd have used my brain and googled "what happens if my visa expires while waiting for another one uk" I'd have the following passage of text:

"If you applied for a new visa before your old one expired, you can stay in the UK until you get a decision."

It's no wonder, when things can simply be googled, that some posts can be strong haha

Also stay alerted to receive an email from UKVI asking your supporting documents without attending any UKVCAS appointment.
