EU spouse joining naturalised British citizen

Post by finallyilrlr » Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:15 am

Hi everyone,

Apologies I searched using generic keywords and the list was long without a direct answer!

I got married to my EU spouse (who has lived in the 5 years in UK as a student) in the UK whilst I was on ILR in 2019 in the UK. He has since taken up work in the EU and we are long distance. He is now looking to move back to the UK and we are exploring visa options that won’t empty our last remaining savings.

I got my citizenship letter and will be naturalised in Feb. Once I do that, will I be able to bring him over on the EU pre-settled scheme? Or is my only option a spouse visa? I saw that EU can join family (including British family) on this scheme even after the 2020 deadline.

Can someone confirm this?

Thanks for any insights!!
