Ok to Renew passport DURING visa application ?

Ok to Renew passport DURING visa application ?

Hey Friends,

We have just put in an application to extend leave to remain.

Our date to submit documents is 11th June - if we renewed my wife's' expiring passport before that date, would it be a problem? She has a biometrics card.

We need to do this because we actually need apply for an Irish visa and move there work reasons. We put in an application so we would not overstay her current visa.

Advice would be most coveted and welcome!
