Hi, my name is Clara and i was granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

I want to know whether my mother, who is 70 and separated from her husband, and my son, aged 12, who live together in brazil have the right to live with me in the UK..

My son lives in brazil with his father and stepmother but he is really unhappy and does not want to live with them anymore.

Also my mother is very ill is this a vaild reason for UK residnency?.

I found out some infor from the uk vista's website. Yes i do send money to her and no inss benefits/ and no other beneits. What cases can i use to backup my claim. is my mum dependent on me?

They have no right to live in the UK, but they have the right to apply! But do not think that application automatically means success.

Firstly your son! Unless you have "sole responsibility" for him there is no chance of you getting a Child Settlement visa for him. I would not have a clue as to how you go about proving sole responsibility in Brazil, and how easy you getting this might be might depend upon whether his father resists your attempts.

Your mother! She does not fall into the category of .... "mother or grandmother who is a widow aged 65 years or over". You say she is separated. I therefore think that you are going to struggle to get your mother to the UK,

Finally can you clarify? You say "my mother, who is 70 and separated from her husband, and my son, aged 12, who live together in brazil" but you also say that "My son lives in brazil with his father and stepmother" .... so do they all live together? Your mother lives with the father of your child?

Thanks. My mum is divoced. and yes my mum lives with my child. But his father lives close to my son and sees him frequently.
