Re-using Trinity College B1 SELT Certificate

I've contacted Trinity College to ask if I can reuse the certificate for a FLR M application (the first extension after the initial 2.5 year application), and they said you might not need to prove the level of English again if the certificate was used within 2 years of the exam on a successful visa application, but you'd need to ask UKVI.

Does anyone else have the same advice? Just contact UKVI? The extension will be stated in late November and if it turns out the B1 needs to be done again the timing will be tight because of a short holiday, exam availability and 2 weeks to get the certificate.

This question is treated frequently on here. As it stand now no need to contact UKVI (that's even if you get a response and or in good time). The forum is replete with member who reused B1 English test successfully from spouse visa extension till BC.
And if not on spouse visa and you are on a route where you have proved English language proficiency before, you not required to do again.
