Interesting situation....any help apreciated

Post by gidd88 » Wed Jan 21, 2009 6:25 pm

Hello all, thanks for reading.

I recently met a girl from the phillipines who was staying with her sister who is a UK citizen through time in the UK, work and marrage. She also has an aunt living here. The girl I have met has had to return home when the 6 month visitor visa ran out. We spent 5 months together and she has things left at my place.

I want to be with her but we do not hit all the criteria for unmarried partners visa, I want to marry her one day but want to spend time with her first so don't want to rush so fiance visa is out.

If she comes back she would love to be able to work, but I am not sure that will be an option for the short term. She is degree educated and has owned her own businesses, does this help?

Does anyone have any advice or has been in a smilar situation? Are there any other options through her family etc?

thanks

She could apply for a student visa (big bucks!), or a work permit if she qualifies.
