ILR holder, dependant visa, time out uk

Post by hmm » Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:27 pm

The parents who comes in here on permanent visa, dependent visa of a british national, gets ILR, don't they? If so, do they get the ILR stamp on their passport in a british high commision in their country or in a UK airport on the arrival.

Are they allowed to stay outside UK for 6 months? is there anytime limit on how long they can be stay in another country without loosing the ILR?

I'm so confused. we'd like to bring our mother in law permanently and also have the flexibility of her staying with other children in other countries...she can stay here in summer and go back home (or to newzealand) when winter is here.

any advise?

If parents are granted settlement, then see also Returning Residents. Else, see also Can my mother-in-law look after baby on visitors?

Thanks vinny for your reply. you've answered some of my questions.
There is no child involved so the child care business is out of question.
