Please help - visa for my mother

Post by Godschild » Sun Jun 14, 2009 12:32 pm

We want my mother to visit us and have provided the following in support of her application:

My bank statements, pay slips for 6 months,
P60,
Letter from my employers,
Statements from our mortgage lenders,
Invitation letter to my mother
Letter of sponsorship
Copy of my passport

I have asked my mother to submit

Her passbook - Post offie refused to issue statement - ORGINAL
Savings bond certificate - ORIGINAL
Sale deed of house in her name- Photocopy as bank has original because of loan
My father's bank statement for 6 months - ORIGINAL
Sale deed of house in father's name (Main residence) - Photoopy as ban has original
Father's pension documents.

My question is does my mother HAVE to submit the originals of the house sale deeds (ownership of property documents)? If she can't where can she explain why?

Is there anything else I/she needs to submit. PLEASE HELP! She needs to be here fairly soon as we are having a baby.

Thanks

The application form would normally have an 'ADDITIONAL INFORMATION' page near the end. She could explain in that part of the application form why she has produced photocopies of certain documents. Can the photocopies be certified? That would probably carry more weight.

Invitation Letter is to the Applicant.
Sponsorship Letter is to the British High Commission/Consulate.

Not a problem. As long as in the sponsorship letter you explained your relationship, finances, accomodation, etc. Infact, a sponsorship letter to show the ECO carries more weight than an invitation letter to the applicant. Invitation can be by word of mouth, over the telephone, email, etc... It's the letter of sponsorship and documentation to back it up, that the ECO really wants to see.
