Help obtainng Student Dependent Visa

Post by desnetk » Wed Aug 24, 2005 10:32 am

Hi,
My wife recntly went to UK for her studies which lasts for 1 year. it's almost 1 month now. at the time of her leaving I didn't want to go with her to UK. But now I badly miss her and really wanna join her in UK.
She has been sponserd by her cousin sister entirely. it was around 5000 pounds which she showed as funds in her cousin's Bank Account. She paid her Uni. Fees at once when she is here in Srilanka.
Now my problem is I can show around 4000 pounds for my stay in UK for 1 year as dependet. When I'm going for a visa interview what are the documents I need to take with me. I'm going to sell my vehicle and find the money. But should I show them 6 months back to my bank statements.
Please help me solve these issues.
Thanks in advance.

6 months statements are enough.

unfortunately, working holiday visa has been suspended in srilanka.
if you are an qualified person you might be able to try HSMP visa. check uk visa website for more details www.ukvisas.gov.uk/.

your wife could come and stay with you over her holiday period. term time is only about 9months in UK, rest is holiday. so before you spend all your money getting visa explore all the options. think about what you going to do in uk once you get there. are you planning to work? if so, apply for a visa which couldallow you to work.
