over 18 settlement visa Delay need urgent help???

Helllo to all!!
My Friends sister applied for an entry clearance to the United Kingdom as a dependant of a former Gurkha, aged over 18 on 25 jan 2010 from Nepal.She is living outside the united kingdom alone..her all family are well settled in the uk.for application her parent send all the document which is necessary for sponsoring like accommodation,Bank statement,Hosing report, utilities (gas, electricity, council tax). when she track her application
it says"Your visa application has been forwarded to the British High Commission" I am quite puzzle what is settlement visa issue time period..it's been 5 months her application is on pending..

Applied date: 1/25/2010
Today Date: 06/17/2010
Till now hasn't issue visa or decision.......what should my friend sister need to do please help................

hi

when its over 12 weeks, which this is, you can contact them as this is outwith their customer standards timeframe, best thing to do would be to emial or phone and ask what the problem is. the person who applies might have to be the one to do this. thats a ridiculous length of time.
