Ancestral Visa query

Hi

Please may I ask how long one can be outside of the UK to still qualify for British Citizenship ? I am on an Ancestral Visa since September 2006.
I have heard that I can start to apply for ILR after 4 years of living herre ? is this true. My visa is for 5 years.

I have 3 dependants. The one is in another country and wishes to marry. Will her new husband be allowed to come to UK and live and work here and eventually qualify for citizenship. Must my child first get her ILR perhaps ? If she marries out of the country what is the situation please ??

It is 5 years not 4 years but when you get your 5 years the rules might change and ILR scrapped and replaced with probationary citizenship . . .
