husband ILR - wishes to sponsor father & brother's visit

Post by Daydream1984 » Tue Jan 04, 2011 1:35 pm

My husband is an Indian national with ILR in UK. We have a 4 year old girl & a 5 month old son.

I have not seen my father-in-law & brother-in-law for just over 3 years and we would like them to visit us, especially our new son.

Our marriage visa was refused in Delhi 3.5 years ago and we had to wait a year apart whilst the appeal came to court & was successful. * still a very sore point, my husband was kept apart from our baby daughter & myself for 12 months! the refusal points were trivial & unsupported, we were not even offered an interview! yet a very suspect marriage that applied at the same time period that has been shown on UK Border Force was allowed after interview despite ECO still not 100% satisfied*

We have therefore always been nervous filling in/appyling for anything immigration related since but I do not wish to pay large sollicitor fees once again if this can be avoided.

My husband is the main breadwinner so would like to be the main sponsor - can he be so as he is not British? If I must be the sponsor as I am British - can I include details of my husbands salary/bank accounts/available credit on credit cards in addition to my own?

Our house is a 2 double bedroom house with 2 reception rooms - the visit would be 6 weeks, must we provide evidence of alternative accomodation? (my father lives alone in a 5 bedroom house...)

My father & brother in law both have jobs to return to and my brother in law also has a wife and child.

My husband is pent up on the idea that we need to have £xxxx in our own accounts in order for their visit visas to be accepted - is this true? if so how much would a 6 week sponsorship require in funds?

finally should we consult a uk sollicitor before sending documents to India to submitted with their applications or simply follow sponsorship letter guides on sites such as this one

thank you all for reading, any replies with advice much appreciated

happy new year to you all
