Hi,

I was reading about the "marriage visa" here: http://www.workpermit.com/uk/marriage.htm but when I checked the UKBA website, I never really found a visa by that name. The only "marriage visa" they spoke about was if someone wanted to apply for a visa to get married.

So the closest thing I could find on UKBA was the EEA family permit: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/ ... 03073/vaf5

So, can someone please confirm whether the EEA family Permit is what Workpermit.com talks about on the above link under the "marriage Visa?'

Please help, it's urgent.

The EEA Family Permit is NOT the same as a spouse visa.

You have not provided enough information for us to know which application would be most appropriate.

EEA Family Permit: VAF5
Issued under an accelerated procedure: can be issued in under a week.

Spouse Visa: VAF4A
Check issue times for the diplomatic post where you intend to apply: usually at least 4 weeks.

Sorry, my mistake. I quoted the VAF5 in the above post, but that's not the one I'm interested in-apologies everyone.


Basically, I just wanted to know what the actual correct visa term for the visa being described on the work permit link: http://www.workpermit.com/uk/marriage.htm and I was trying to find that visa on UKBA, but couldn't seem to find it.

What the Work permit link calls "marriage visa" seems to be the "settlement" visa for which you've given me the link to: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... ementguide

My Wife's British, and so I'll probably be needing to apply for this visa (now that the tier 1 General has been abolished), and I just wanted to know what the time line will be for an application to be approved for the spouse "settlement" visa?
