Evidence of contact with Spouse

Post by SoHopeful » Wed Jun 29, 2011 8:34 pm

How much evidence is enough?

I have pages and pages of evidence; im talking 100s. Surely they dont need to see it all, but i want to ensure i include enough. I am thinking of including one messenger conversation for every month we have been together, all the emails between us that i still have and all the house/mobile phone bills i can find. I also have pages of skype calls. How many pages should i include? I have about 250

Those of you who applied to spouse settlement, how much of each type of contact did you submit?

Hi I actually submitted quite a lot of photos of me and my wife together, spanning the relationship from start to finish. I also gave in about 80 double sided pages of msn conversation. and 6 months of phone bills.

I think the most important thing is to show evidence spanning the whole relationship, i.e beginning, middle and end.

you dont need to give them 100%. just a little from throughout the relationship.

I hope this helps.

For your information, the average time an ECO takes to decide an application is 10-15 minutes max............therefore he doesnt have time to read all those pages you are going to send to him.

Please do not actually send your conversations to the ECO. They have been known to misconstrue what they read and hang onto these "harmless" documents as proof of deception.

Send in proof of your communication. Like logs of when you contaced each other rather than the actual things you said to each other.

100's of pages is far too much! Narrow it down to 10 pages MAX!

5 will do plus 5 photographs...... more emphasis on more important docs like for supporting, maintaining and accommodating your spouse are the vital docs

Good points Guys! I totally forgot that they only spend a limited amount of time looking at the application. And yes Elena, i was a little anxious about including personal conversations. I will just remove the text, leaving the participants, date and time.

I'm struggling with how i can copy and paste msn convo details... the format in which the conversations are saved... as a web page, is making it difficult for me to just transfer the info to a word file.

Those of you who have provided msn logs/chats, how have you retrieved them?

Really, you would only need to contemplate undertaking such a ludicrous measure if there was absolutely no other existing proof that you were united in a marriage and where you had maintained moderate contact during periods apart. It seems to me that are intent over-egging the application pudding despite already having lots (perhaps too much) evidence from other sources that serves the same purpose.

The only thing i see as ludicrous is your exaggerated response to something many people on here have done. I fail to see what is so incredulous about it.

Thank you. You have previously been given good advice in this thread but I don't understand why you are asking for help when it's obvious that you have no intention of acting on that. You have been told that the material you intend to provide is completely out of proportion with the actual necessity. You might as well ask your window cleaner what to include and leave out; his input is as good as anyone's if you have no intention of heeding anything that is being put across to you.

No intention on acting on any of the advice??? Keep your sweeping statements and attitude to yourself.

I was advised not to include the actual conversations...
