spouse visa query

Post by losttheplot » Tue Jul 19, 2011 3:04 pm

Hi, i'm a work permit holder and i got married in June to a British. i'm planning to change my visa to the spouse visa soon. i just got confused about the sufficient fund requirement. me and my husband are both working, i'm currently earning more than him. we are using our own personal accounts and just recently opened a joint account after we are married. My question is does he has to show in his account that he has enough money to support both of us or does the money in my account also counts to the total income to show we can support ourselves? And also do you think my case can be classified as a straightforward case to be decided in person. Thank you very much in advance for any advice. Thank you.

No one can advise you whether your case is straightforward without seeing all the documents.
However....the finances are taken jointly.
