Absence letter query

Hi there,

I am on tier 1 general visa and hoping to apply for ILR in couple of days time.

I have been reading at the previous post regarding absence from UK. I was wondering if the absence from UK is for holidays just for 2 weeks in the 5 yrs do we have to get letter from the employer? Why will the employer give letter for holidays.

Please suggest is the letter required or the stamp in the passport suffice the need.
