UK NARIC

Post by anni.wangol » Mon Sep 08, 2014 1:10 am

Hi, I am applying for Naturalisation. I have completed my Bachelor and Master in the UK. On the application form for Naturalisation (Form AN) Home Office is asking that “the qualification must be deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or PhD in the UK”.

1/ I am a bit unsure which service I should choose on UK NARIC Website; i.e. statement of comparability or English Language Assessment?
2/ Is my Master Degree (one qualification) enough or I should also certify my Bachelor Degree?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A UK degree does not need anything from UKNARIC, just the degree certificate will satisfy B1 English in addition to LIUK.

Dear Amber, many thanks for your prompt response. I am still a bit confused. In Form AN, Section 1.22, there is no options to select for those such as me who have obtained their qualifications in the United Kingdom.

In Form AN section 1.22, I am asked to select one option:

1) I have speaking and listening qualification in English at B1 CEFR or higher, or an equivalent level qualification; OR
2) I have obtained an academic qualification deemed by UK Naric to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor's or Master's degree or PhD in the UK AND
2 a.) UK Naric has confirmed that the qualification or taught or researched in English OR
2 b.) the qualification was taught or researched in the UK or a majority English speaking country.

As you see above there is no option for people who have earned their degrees in the United Kingdom. I am going to select 2b (the qualification was taught or researched in the UK or a majority English speaking country), but I am not yet sure if this is a correct option as option "2 b" is still a subcategory for option 2 (i.e. I have obtained an academic qualification deemed by UK Naric...)

Please guide me if you know which option I should select.

Thanks in advance.
