Post by Gousi » Sun Nov 23, 2014 7:37 pm

Dear All,

I have my oath ceremony in a weeks time and i am blessed with a baby last month and they are currently in india.

Myself and my wife both have ILR and i am going for oath ceremony next week.

Do i need to get an indian passport for my baby and get a visa from UK embasssy in india?
OR
Can i apply for British passport for my Baby in INDIA after i get my British passport in UK?

Your response is highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards
Gousi

If baby was born in the UK, then second option is possible. Else, first option - Indian passport and UK settlement visa.

Thanks Vinny for your response. I have one more question, I just want to be clear on my options. Sorry if it is the repetition of my previous question.

They are coming back to UK in March Next year and i will hopefully get the UK passport much before.

Can i apply British Passport for my baby directly from India, after i get my passport in UK? Is it possible?

There is something online says 'Children born abroad to parents who are applying for British citizenship'. Is this applicable if the baby is back in UK,or we can apply for passport directly.

Thanks
Gousi

i think you can apply for passport directly becuase you already have ILR. I read it somewhere online but must make sure you get the correct information before proceeding further.

I also have query:

I need to know which application form for first britsh passport will I be using for my children born in pakistan after i got my citizenship i.e. C2 or OS and what documents i need to provide. OS Form is available at the following link but can't find C2.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... rm_009.pdf

Can anyone very kindly provide a list of documents i need to support my children's passport application.

Thanking you all for your help, guidance and support.

kind regards,

Shakil
