Where to start

Post by kaizen54 » Sat Nov 29, 2014 9:08 am

Hi

I have read through the board today but I am still confused. We look at this process in the summer and are trying to look at it again.

All the abbreviations has me a little confused. We want to move to Turkey to live in the UK my wife is a UK citizen and so I think we need to do the settlement visa.

I am a Teacher in Turkey and wondering if this will be any advantage.

Thank you for your help.

You say you want to 'move to Turkey' but I'm assuming you mean 'move from' to the UK. In which case you need to apply for a spouse settlement visa - VAF4a https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk
Most importantly, is your wife currently living in the UK and does she earn at least £18,600 a year there? Working as a teacher in Turkey doesn't give you any particular advantage apart from the fact that you should find the pre-entry English A1 level English test easy to pass.
