Registration of Child (MN1) Timeline?

Post by 1963British » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:10 pm

I am submitting Form MN1 for my child, under age 10. It is a straightforward application under s 3 (1).

I am a British Citizen under s 4 (c), who has brought his family back to the UK. My children are not eligible under any other section, they were born before I was registered.

The website lists processing times for registration of children at 2.73 months but I am assuming that is because most applications are submitted along with an adult application.

Does anyone have any experience in processing time frames for stand alone child registration applications that are very straight forward? I have used Chapter 9.15 as a guide and each and every criteria is clearly met.

Why do you assume that? There are a lot of cases where MN1 is standalone. For example people recently on ILR with kids born in the UK, will use MN1, where as the parents can only naturalise a year later.

So if it says 2.73 months, then it's true.

You have great faith in government "if it says it, it's true ... "

The figure for adult registration is a better guide to a stand-alone child registration. And while there are a lot of stand-alone MN1 cases (plus form T), there are many more where it is linked to a naturalisation.

Of course I have great faith in government, they represent the people. Oh, right, we're immigrants...
