Hiring a student

Post by ali31 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 2:49 pm

I am in process of hiring employees. I just want to know if I can hire a university student? Will HO raise any objection on this?

P.s. the job is 15 hours a week.

Thanks

Should not be any issue if it is for 15 hours(Part time)
Make sure if they ask how he was able to help being still a student(if in future in case)

U can hire any person in the uk who has right to work part time or full time, there is no concern of UKVI but to apply for extension there is no point for the creation of employment except settle person

you can hire any legal person, but u can't claim international student to full fill your requirement to get points for extension.

Hi all,

Will this hiring a student for 15hrs qualify towards hours of job creation (this is less than 30hrs per week). can we claim 2 weeeks of 15hrs per week as one full time hour week?

Thanks

Thanks. Even if there is no one else working alongside that person to claim 30hrs combined?
Also, I applied in May2013, so maybe this set of rules does not apply?

Read guideline page 25.
For those applying for entry clearance or switching into the route from 6 April 2014, the
employment must be for at least two separate jobs, and must exist for at least a full 12 months
each.
