Civil partnership with Bulgarian girl

Post by peca » Thu Sep 13, 2007 6:20 pm

My friend is in relation ship with Bulgarian girl. He is UK passport holder. They are together for last 4 years, he was travelling to Bulgaria she was coming to UK on regular basis.

She plan to move to UK and start to live together. What is best for them to do
so she will be able to work in UK.

Is Civil partnership for them good option, and what kind of documents he need to provide to Home Office.

Kind regards,
Predrag

Civil Partnership is for same-sex couples only.

If she wishes to join him in the UK, they should;
apply for a fiancee visa from Sofia, get married in the UK and apply for a spouse visa (in the UK) or;
get married in Sofia/outside the UK and apply for a spouse visa from Sofia

hmm...then again she is an EEA national, so there might be some other rule for her?

She needs to look at www.workingintheuk.gov.uk for details of the special arrangements for Bulgarians and Romanians.
