How long before expiry to reapply, FLR(M) stage 1?

How long before expiry to reapply, FLR(M) stage 1?

Good afternoon, my FLR(M) 2.5 year visa expires in September. Does anyone know when I should apply for the next 2.5 year leg? 3 months before expiry? One month before? Half an hour? The official guidance just says "before it expires" but nothing more specific, so I don't want to be too early or too close to the wire. Thanks.

No earlier than 28 days before the expiry date.
