Do BRP holders require visa for France?

Post by Sanam1983 » Sun Mar 01, 2015 3:53 pm

Hi all
Will be grateful if someone can clarify, my husband is on FLR(M) and has a Biometric Residency Permit card UK issued. Does he still need to get a visa to go on holiday to France or is he exempt under the EU spouse rule?

Regards

Are you a British or EEA citizen?

If you are one of the above, technically, your husband does not need a visa to visit another EEA country, if he is traveling with you or traveling to meet you. It is up to him to convince the relevant immigration officer of his relationship to you and that he is traveling with or to you.

For all other purposes, his visa requirements will depend on his passport and current nationality.

However, an EEA visa is free for spouses of EEA citizens. So, it is better to apply for a visa in advance if you have the time.
