You can do LIUK at any time as it does not expire. Just make sure you use the latest official books to prepare for your test.

You could do it ten years before, it would not make a difference.

You should get it done now. A very wise decision you have made as the number of people who had left it till the last minute have panicked not having passed it in time due to various reasons then having to apply for an extension of their visa rather than ILR.

You cannot use the 90 day concession for long residence ILR. Your residence period starts on the date you ENTERED the UK. You can therefore apply no sooner than 28 days before 26th August 2016. You can now apply for long residence ILR in person for a same day decision.

Hi Everyone
I will be eligible for ILR 10 years next year.Just want to make my self prepared for it.I am on tier 4 student at the moment my status was Stuent 5yrs +PSW 2Yrs +student 3 Years

1. what documents do i need to send with my ILR Application.

2.One issue on my application in 2010. dont know is my staright forward or not.The senario is ukba made me over stayer for 24 Days because of payment issue. My visa was expiring 30 Nov 2010 and i sent my application 30 Sept 2010(Two month before).I paid the application fees by card. They sent my application 13 dec2010 letter dated 10th dec 2010 saying the application is invalid due to payment issue they advised me to do the fresh application. It was their fault.they didnt try to take the money from my account and i have got letter from the bank they are saying they didnt try to take any money out from my account from last six month then i did the fresh application on 23 of december 2010,That made me overstayer for 23 days. and got acknowledgement letter dated 24 dec 2010.With this application i sent the letter from the bank saying no attempt to take the money out by ukba. Also after submit the application two week after i also sent CAS letter that is extended by college due to failing one subject and i got visa on 25th jan 2011. Now my question is

2.1 Can they make any issue with this on my ILR 10 yr basis
2.2 Do I need to apply for SAR from UKBA too see the case worker note.

Please let me know the posible option to make myself ready for apply

See also Invalid application due to payment problems?

Moreover, you should be okay anyway, as you made a successful application within 28 days from your application being declared invalid.

No harm in applying for SAR.

Thanks A lot for your reply vinny.Just wondering about the rule change on 1st october 2012 regarding 28 days grace period. As the time of application there was 10 day grace period.

1. Can that be any effect?
2.How long does it take to come when we apply for SAR?

Thanks

Dear
I am making myself prepare for ILR in couple of month.Just have concern about those 22 days overstaying. Please can you clarify.
1.On the application form said did i overstay any period of time,What should i Say?Yes or no as it wasnt my fault.
2.Should i mention it with the cover letter explaining the situation?why i overstayed
3.Do i need to give the postal receipt for this application that i made within 28 days grace period to clarify i made application within 28 days.
4.I have got photo copy of acknowledgement letter issued by UKVI on 24/12/2010.Should i give it to support my application or should i just explain the whole situation in the cover letter.
5.what is the list of document i should provide for SET (LR) AS i was Student 4.5 yrs+PSW 2 2Yrs+Student 3.5Years.

Please help me with those question

You don't need a cover letter.

You don't need the payment sheet as you have to pay online when you book your appointment.

No rule changes, but you need to make sure all or any of your tax affairs are in order.
