thanks for the reply CR001CR001 wrote:It needs to be someone who is engaged with the baby (health visitor, nurse, teacher). Doesn't have to know parents for 3 years.

One of the required documents for MN1 application is parents BRP and passport copies. My questions are
1. Does the passport photo copies need to include both old and new passport? or just the new passport? I haven't travelled abroad in the last 4 years so no entries in the new passport.
2. Does the photocopies need to be B&W or colour?
3. I read somewhere that passport and BRP photocopies need to be certified, does it mean we just signing the photocopies or does it require a professional to attest/sign them?
4. Under section 8, page 30, does it has to signed by both parents? if one parent sign is enough then does it has to be mine or my husband's?
5. I think section 4 is for children above 10 years, my kid is 2 years so i do not need to fill in this, can someone confirm this please?
thanks for the help.
It's a generic form - if child has no other passport simply leave blank.babygirl wrote:thanks noajthan for the reply.
another question,
the application asks for children's passport details, my kid has no passport. We did not apply for one as we were told we can register him through MN1 once we get the ILR.
thanks
Hi there, noajthan wrote:4) The preference is both parents sign.babygirl wrote: 4. Under section 8, page 30, does it has to signed by both parents? if one parent sign is enough then does it has to be mine or my husband's?
If one parent cannot or will not sign some explanation will be required.
If only one parent will sign it should be the main carer or custodian of the child.
See section 7 of HO guidance on this important matter; (page 26+):

A bit inappropriate skreddy. The point of the forum is to help people, even with silly questions and if you have no useful advice to offer, please rather don't respond if you find posts 'silly'.skreddy wrote:Hello Babygirl!
Say honestly, have you read the guidance at all???
I never seen these type of silly questions in this forum.
Have you ever applied for any UK visas for you or your family? Which one used color/black and white copies??
If you are in doubt send both old and new passport copies, what is the actual question here??
Read the guidance first carefully, you can find everything you need (of course for your silly questions only UKVI people can answer). Don't waste other members time..
Good questions - better safe than sorry after all.babygirl wrote:Hi there,
I was referring to section 8 not 7. Yes section 7 has spaces for both mother and father of the child but section 8 has only one space and even in the guidance its not clear whether it should be signed by both or just one is enough.
...
sorry just want to be 100% sure that i am doing it right.
thanks in advance
thanks for taking time to type that. seriously don't waste your time on something you don't see worth your time. simples.skreddy wrote:Hello Babygirl!

thanks you so much CR001CR001 wrote:Only one parent needs to sign section 8.
Payment form is correct.
Address to post to is correct. Why do you not consider applying using NCS at the council. they copy all your documents and you will get to keep all your original documents and they check your form (small fee applies) and they send it to HO.
absolutely right. whenever these things come up i just want to be sure that I am doing the right thing.noajthan wrote: better safe than sorry after all.
yes I will get a self-address SD envelope. thanks againnoajthan wrote: In that case (direct application), also suggest enclosing a pre-paid, self-addressed Special Delivery reply envelope for the safe return of your valuable docs from HO.
Good luck.
Don't take it personally babygirl. You are more than welcome to ask anything you need help with.babygirl wrote:thanks for taking time to type that. seriously don't waste your time on something you don't see worth your time. simples.skreddy wrote:Hello Babygirl!
