My tier 2 general visa is expiring in july 2017. How soon i can apply for visa extension?

Actually i wanted to ask if i apply for one year extension now, will i get it until july 2018?

An extension is valid from the date of approval, so if you apply now, it will be valid from when HO approves it. It is not a 'post dated' or 'run on' from when your current visa expires.
