Child Settlement Visa - Ghana

Please could anyone confirm whether you have to send supporting documents to sheffield when applying for a child settlement visa from Ghana and if so what documents do you hand over in Ghana apart from the passport?

Also Does the birth certificate go to sheffield or Ghana?
