Renewing Spouse visa

Post by Madison » Sun Apr 03, 2016 2:10 pm

Hi

The first 2.5 years of my UK spouse visa is expecting on 14th May 2016. I have an premium appointment booked for 13th april and only just learnt of the 28 day rule for ILR recently.
I was told when I called HO that if I applied more that 28 days before my visa expires I might have issues as my visa will expire before I reach the 5years duration require for
ILR.

The latest appointment I have been able to get so far is 13th april, looking online I am not sure if the dates beyond april 13th haven't opened up yet or they are fully booked! Croydon and Birmingham have messages saying "all appointments for the next 42 days are fully booked"

Kindly advice should I attend the 13th april appointment. Though its 32 days before my visa expires? Is there a way I can get a later date? Also the visa fee was increased after I paid online, would I need to pay the difference? If yes, how do I pay the difference?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

What was the start date of the current spouse visa?

On what date did you enter the UK on your spouse visa?

Start date of my current spouse visa is 14th November 2013.

My present visa expires 14 May 2016

I have a premium appointment booked for 13th april 2016

But I am worried that if my visa expires 13th October 2018 I won't meet the 5year requirement rule for ILR as I would have to apply before 13th oct 2018. Kindly advice and also advice how I can move this date forward as I can't find any online appointment beyond april 13th for some reason...thank you

Before the spouse visa I was on a post study work visa that was due to expire 20th January 2014.

Kind advice on the fee increase as well. Will I be asked to pay the difference? If yes how do I pay it? Thank you very much.

No, you will not be required to pay the difference in the fee.

I would suggest you try and reschedule your appointment to around the 20th April if you can.

Hi

Thanks for your advice. Really appreciate it. I have been looking for later appointments online but all the centres don't seem to have any appointment beyond april 13th . Pls is this normal? Could the dates after april 13th be fully booked? Or have they just not opened them up to the public yet?

Do you have a number I can call to book a later appointment ?

Thank you.

Maybe not open for booking yet. A few people have been having problems in the last couple of days.

No telephone number, think you can only do it online.

Hi

I just read online that the appointment service opens up to 42 days in advance. So how come I can only see dates up to april 13th on my appointment portal? Could it because I paid very early (Feb 2nd)? As I also have a message on there saying from 20th april I will no longer be able to log into my booking page...

Pls is there a way to find out if I am the only one who can't book beyond april 13th or this restriction applies to everyone else?

See CR001's post above. Previously slots have always been released 42 days in advance, but for whatever reason ( :?: ), currently they only appear to be available 28 days ahead.

Hi

Kindly advice on the worst case scenario. Assuming I am unable to get a later appointment and decide to go ahead with my april 13th premium appointment...what happen when I'm due my ILR seeing as my visa will expire before I clock 5years on my spouse visa... What have other people in similar situations done about this?

Will I have to renew my spouse visa again and then apply for ILR 2/3weeks after? How much will it cost to renew spouse visa the 3rd time? Thank you...

You could apply for FLR(M) extension and then apply to vary your application to Set(M) for ILR and pay the fee difference.

Hi Madison,

This is really strange. You mentioned the appointments at Croydon and Birmingham are appeared to be fully booked, but as I just searched the appointments. They DO have appointments available!!!

I am in the same situation. My booked appointment is more than 28 days before my VISA expiration date. Now I want to reschedule it to a later date, but the system only shows me the next 10 available dates in each centre, no matter what date I choose. There was appointment in the Belfast centre on 29th and then when this one was taken, they system just shows this is no available appointment in the next 42 days. Now I am worried that I can't change to the date I need.

If you give me your email address, I can send you the screen shots showing there are indeed appointment available at Croydon and Birmingham. You can send yours showing no appointments and mine showing otherwise to ApplyOnlineE-Support@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. See what they say! So far, they have not been helpful at all.

Hi Cheeseandrea,

Thanks for your email. I really don't know what is going on and im getting worried... I paid on Feb 2nd , so I don't know if that's why the dates I can select are restricted as I paid quite early...

Pls when did you pay for your application? my email address is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
pls email me as mentioned. I emailed ApplyOnlineE-Support@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk today and im hoping to hear back from them. Have u emailed them already? how soon did you heard back from them and what did they say? When does your visa expire? on my online system I can only see appointments till April 13th! all the dates after april 13th are blocked out! what date is your appointment booked for at the moment?

I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.

Hi CR001,

Thanks a lot for your previous help.
Pls are your aware of any restriction placed on the online booking platform based on the date you paid for your premium appointment? is it possible that I cant see any dates beyond 13th April online because I paid on the 2nd of February? as I paid quite early? kindly advice.

Thank you.

Hi Everyone,

I just heard back via email from the premium service email address above and they said appointments are only available 28 days in advance, and will be limited when rescheduling an existing appointment... and they are unable to reschedule appointments on my behalf.

so I have replied to ask them asking how come I cant seem to even click on any date later that 13th April if appointments are available 28 days in advance? I have also asked them, to pls grant me access to dates beyond April 13th.. ill wait and see what they come back with...

Casa/CROO1, Any advice you can offer me will be greatly appreciated.
Cheesandrea, Pls PM me your email address so we can exchange emails as discussed. And I eagerly await your response as well.

Thanks a lot.

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions for rescheduling other than those you've already tried.

I can't see your email address for some reason. Now I can see as far as 29th April but no further. My VISA expires on 29th May. They just said if you can't see it it means there is no appointment available which is not true. Worst case scenario, I will just have to cancel this one and book a new one. Have they replied to you? What do they say?

Hi Cheeseandrea,

They are REALLY unhelpful both via the email service and on the phone. its so pathetic.
I still cannot see any dates beyond the 13th of April strangely enough and yet they keep telling me ALL the dates after 13th April are fully booked which we both know is a lie. its so sad that we pay so much money for such pitiful service from them. They keep telling me there are limited appointment slots for rescheduled appointments, and that they release dates 28days in advance, which doesn't make sense because I can only see date 7days in advance on my online booking portal.

At this moment I am still emailing them and trying to get them to grant me access to dates after April 13th. if you cancel the appointment you currently hold, wouldn't you have to pay another fee to book again? my email address was blocked by the moderators hence why you cant see it.

I see. My email is reference to email removed by moderator. Yea, cancelling means we have to book a new one and pay again... But it's better then not getting the VISA appointment at all.
