Hi Everyone,
I've tried searching through the forums but I can't seem to find a complete answer (my apologies if there is one).
Basically I'm looking to switch from one Tier 2 Sponsor to another, which feels like it should be straight forward, but the notice periods seem a bit tricky.
I currently have a two month notice period at my current sponsor. My new sponsor would obviously like me to start sooner than two months from now but I'm uncertain if this is possible.
It seems like what needs to happen is my new employer needs to offer me the job and draw up a CoS.
Then I apply for a new Visa which will commence at the end of my current work notice period.
The tricky bit is of course that notice period won't start until I quit, so presumably that would be 2 months after the 10 day wait for the new visa to be issued.
I'm still waiting for the formal offer to come through, but I suspect the new sponsor is going to suggest that I quit my current job as soon as the offer comes through under the assumption the visa will clear non-problem (which is obviously a risk).
I suppose I was wondering if all of my understandings are correct, how often visa's get rejected, and how big the risk actually is?
