Hi folks,
I am a New Zealander who will be applying for HSMP within the next few months. I am currently employed in a salaried position and intend to submit evidence of my salary from February 2007 to February 2008.
I am having difficulty obtaining evidence to that shows exactly how much I earned during this period. Unfortunately, I only have six months of pay slips and my employer advises that its accounting software does not allow it to reprint old payslips (which I find surprising). Fortunately, my employer can provide a computer-generated table showing my salary payments for any given period and is happy to also provide a formal letter confirming my employment and income for that period.
When I apply for HSMP, I will also submit bank statements showing my salary being paid into my bank account every fortnight and tax certificates from the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department.
My bank statements show my income after tax (ie. my net income), whereas the computer-generated table produced by my employer will show my gross income. As a result, the figures shown on the two documents will not match up. This must be a common problem.
If I obtain a letter from my employer confirming my gross and net income for the claimed period, and enclose a letter explaining why the numbers are different, will this be sufficient to overcome the fact that the numbers do not neatly match up?
