PR after 4 years of work permit ?

I am working in UK having work permit.
I have heared that those who are on work permit can get PR or ILR status after 4 years.
My problem is that i changed my employer last year.
My question is, from where my 4 years period will be counted;
from my very first job , no matter if i changed the employer in between.
OR,
i have to work 4 years at the same employer to apply for PR or ILR status .

Dr Dan, which planet have you been on? The 4 year ILR is long gone..Its 5 years on a WP/HSMP before you qualify for ILR. Change of employer would not affect your eligibility as long as there are no gaps in the FLR..
